By simply launching the app, you will be presented with an animated live radar that covers up to two hours of past data. This essential functionality provides a quick snapshot of the weather on-the-go, enabling you to make informed decisions and plan your day accordingly.
An outstanding feature of MyRadar is its advanced rain alerts. With our patent-pending process for predicting hyper-local rainfall, we offer the most accurate predictions in the industry. Instead of constantly checking the app, MyRadar proactively sends you alerts up to an hour in advance regarding the arrival time, intensity, and duration of rain at your current location. These timely alerts can be truly lifesavers when you're busy and unable to keep track of changing weather conditions.
In addition to live radar, MyRadar offers a growing selection of data layers that can be superimposed on the map. For example, our animated winds layer provides a stunning visual representation of surface winds and jetstream-level winds. The frontal boundaries layer displays high and low pressure systems as well as frontal boundaries themselves. The earthquakes layer offers customizable reports on seismic activity in terms of severity and time. The hurricane layer keeps you updated about tropical storm and hurricane activity worldwide. The aviation layer overlays AIRMETs, SIGMETs, and other aviation-related data, even allowing you to track flights and display their IFR flight plans and paths. Finally, the "wildfires" layer informs you about the latest fire activity in the United States.
MyRadar also gives you the ability to receive weather and environmental alerts, including alerts from the National Weather Service such as Tornado and Severe Weather alerts. In this version, we have introduced a new feature that sends you alerts specifically related to Tropical Storm and Hurricane activity. You can customize the app to notify you whenever a tropical storm or hurricane forms, or if there are any upgrades or downgrades in intensity.
While MyRadar offers impressive free features, we also provide additional upgrades for those seeking even more functionality. For instance, our real-time hurricane tracking upgrade is highly recommended for the beginning of hurricane season. This upgrade offers additional data, including the cone of probability for tropical storm/hurricane forecast tracks, as well as a detailed synopsis from the National Hurricane Center. We also offer the professional radar pack as part of our premium upgrades, which provides greater radar detail from individual stations. Weather enthusiasts can select specific radar stations across the United States, choose the radar tilt angle, and even change the radar product being displayed (e.g., base reflectivity and wind velocity), perfect for those who want to stay ahead of possible tornado formation.
